Here is a couple of simple screenshots on the tech adoption curve for anyone that hasn't seen it. My belief bnpl is still in early adopter phase and only 16 percent of the population are using. This lines up with zips ANZ customer base of about 2.5 million or less than 10 percent of the 30 million and region pop.
the early majority phases is next where 34 percent, a huge chunk of the general population will adopt bnpl. This will effectively triple or quadruple the customer base. But note from a technology point of view these consumers want more than just bnpl they want a complete credit card alternative and finance alternative. I believe this is also why we are seeing diversification to zip into zip money and tap and zip. In order to get more than just the trendy hipster using bnpl which is where we are at now, next users want to see more value from the technology. And in terms of payments, offering a transparent touch and go bnpl for all purchases discretionary and everyday imho is a bit of a game changer and giving consumers the option to spread all of their payments more smoothly over time.
And then after that the late majority phase will adopt the new tech
