    Not if no one believes the offer is going to be successful. Why would anyone buy at 6.7 or even near it if they have no hope of arbitraging them on to Equity 1 and Equity 1 actually ending up buying them.

    And there appears to be no other bidder so there is no competition.

    If you were to accept Equity 1's offer you would effectively lose control of your shares until such time as the conditional bid was declared null and then (and only then) would you be able to do anything else with them.

    On that basis who is going to bid the market price up ?
