What a load of rubbish. The whole move is to cloud based. Why would you not want to communicate with your devices from anywhere. The whole point is to make cloud based apps more resilient. Azure and AWS are both almost bullet proof. Top 100 companies are using them with SLA's base on 99.99996% uptime.
