I remind myself of that quote every time I visit Kyneton racecourse. A truly magnificent stand of oaks offers acres of soothing shade from the harsh sun for all.
Precious few amongst our current crop of elders of all persuasions have demonstrated willingness/ability to act like the pioneering elders of 150+ years ago.
