I would like to hear from Carnarvon a definitive statement making it very clear to THE MARKET that the company, with the collaboration of Santos, has a singular intention, and that is to become an oil producer on the NW Shelf of Australia; and as soon as it is possible to do so.
All other considerations: Buffalo, the price of a barrel of oil, seismic results from adjoining fields, takeovers, share buybacks....just everything else is of a secondary consideration at best.
The only change to this definitive statement would be if the Dorado operator, Santos, chooses to extend the current schedule and/or change their priorities.
All Market participants would welcome this clarity.
