AdultShop loses appeal on X-rated films

The Federal Court of Australia has rejected an appeal against a decision by theOffice of Film & Literature Classification. Listed adult products providerAdultShop.com had invested about 12 months and $A1m in legal fees to challengethe current law that allows it to sell X-rated pornographic videos via the mailfrom federal territories but not over the counter in any of the states. It hassubmitted a compilation titled "Viva Erotica" to gain a classificationother than the restrictive "X18+", and commissioned marketing researchthat showed community attitudes no non-violent erotica had changed sufficiently.On 29 November 2007 its stock closed $A0.001 lower at $A0.021
