All these new reactor fuel recycling /reusing schemes sound great, but I'm not keeping up too well with how the Silex technology fits in. My thought is that simple enrichment of Uranium 235 from the Uranium Hexaflouride compound in it's gaseous state was all we could do for now. Separating undesirable actinides (reactor poison) from the useable fuel using Silex would be great, a massive win for laser separation, but realistically GE would buy Silex lock stock and barrel before our share price hit's $1 if it was at all practical.
