Correct. I'm not sure if the old-timers recall, but Silex was also going to be used for medical oxygen and a bunch of other applications. Another MG bedtime story!
The only thing that SLX could achieve with a reasonable probability (>30%) is to be the passive participant of GEH taking the technology places, i.e. Paducah.
GEH are progressing the core-purpose of Silex tech, its debatable whether it is faster or slower than recently updated, but regardless, 2nd generation applications are more wishful thinking until there is more certainty on the primary application, enrichment.
IF there was a >10% probability of these 2nd gen applications for Silex, GEH would have dealt with SLX long ago, rather let researches publish, "isn't this interesting" type papers.
IF Paducah comes through for GEH, and therefore SLX, these second gen options could be more feasible, but at this stage, there is more chance that MG will sell a USB-Sync license to Apple, before, we hear more on the 2nd gen applications.
