After looking at the ABWR for the UK, it dawned on me about the cancellation of the ESBWR in the US by three companies?

Two of those were the same two companies in the US that have an MOU for the supply of enriched Uranium from GLE, namely -: Excelon and Entergy

    see here -

    And then -:
Now we see one of those companies have changed their option to ABWR?
    http://www.world-nuclear-news.org/C_Exelon_opts_for_ABWR_2603092.html

As I said both of those companies and also another have changed their minds about ESBWR, my question is WHY?
Is it because of the delay in getting a license because it is a first of? As against one that is already in use? would you forgo the benefits of safety for an older tech?
    see here -:

I guess I can see the reason that the ABWR is proven technology and ESBWR has not been built anywhere yet, but you would think the advantages of the ESBWR would win the day, wouldn't you?
Could it be possible? that the advantage of some very cheap fuel also comes into that equation?

Any guesses which technology Entergy will opt for?

I reckon it will also be for the ABWR somehow? and not because of safety reasons, it is because they are already in use and a license would be much easier to get.
Add to that this new type of fuel and there you go,
    Wahallah!
