what I am inferring is that MCO, CGT BDG and BCD are all companies that will be doing a lot of innovation in their underground mining techniques over the next few years. We will see some new engineering ideas trialled at MCO.
The South Africans are doing this innovation already with mechanised narrow vein bogging and drilling gear and water powered drills. They have tried various unsuccessful techniques to replace blasting. The South African innovations are very relevant to MCO because the SA reefs are horizontal
I spoke to Peter Hepburn Brown last year about the decline. It was simply a cost benefit analysis which consulting engineers were working on at that time, if the figures stack up they will do it.
