    As this trend continues, more of Australia's cattle will need to be diverted from the US to Asia - particularly the lower quality manufacturing / hamburger mince, a lot of which comes from Northern Australia and competes directly with live exports.

    Moves by some US burger restaurants to offer patties using ‘fresh, never frozen’ beef may be starting to impact on Australia’s primary exports to the US of frozen trim, with imported frozen 90CL prices last week trading well below domestic US 90s – despite the shortage of imported beef in the US market.
