(a) My first point is that the author was trying to create ridicule by association. It's an unfunny, pathetic ploy. No 'flair' here. Fail.

(b) His comment about Bob Carter is just plain wrong. If one can't correctly describe the position of one's adversary in a debate, then we can safely forget about 'intellectual rigour'. Fail.
