I thought I read somewhere that the tax office's ruling said they "may' allow a tax deduction. I too am stuck with 10,000 of these wan..rs and intend to claim the loss this year; last year the accountant said exactly what you've said i.e they aren't technically broke so one can't claim. This year I hope client instructions will prevail!
