I don't think it's useful to question ad's or anyone else's timing decisions. The fact is you have to sell shares to make a profit, to avoid losses, to rebalance the portfolio, etc. Maybe he will be able to buy back a greater number of shares when he re-enters, maybe he won't, but I don't think anyone should be castigated for trying to make a buck, even a fiat one.
