Gopherbroke - if Sparc receive AEA Innovate grant funding it'll be for Sparc Hydrogen and not for their other business activities (EcoSparc) so until such times as they finally (4 years later) start generating revenue from additives/coatings they'll probably need to generate funding for ongoing operational costs including capital expenditure etc...
I'm not sure of the future value of EcoSparc but I do see great value in patenting an ultra-green hydrogen tech that may deliver an energy source at under $2 per kg which is what Sparc are promoting.
