I'm afraid that is just your perception. Go look at a 50 year andex chart.
It has all the milestone events, catastrophes, changes of govt etc, inlcuding september 11, the oil shocks of the 70's which you would remember. Draw a straight line from the start of the 50 year chart to today and tell me the line isn't a 45 degree angle.
Also look up Nick Murray. THe 4 most dangerous words in investing are "This time it's different". There is nothing new under the sun.
