Every industry needs subsidies to get established . None of them would be where they are today without government assistance and/or grants .
The entire coal fired power industry was funded by tax payers . The rail system . Airports . Roads. Schools. The original Snowy project etc. All done by forward looking governments .
The solar industry has gone from a very expensive boutique industry to now a very affordable product . Thanks to economies of scale solar is now very cheap . All because governments subsidized them at the start .
As we have seen lately the subsidies are reducing . The FlT is down to nothing .
Meanwhile after 100 years the fossil industry can't survive without government assistance apparently.
