Natural gas changes 1 February 2021 – for customers on market contracts
Origin decided that on 1 January 2021, natural gas prices will change for customers on a standard retail contract, and on 1 February 2021 for customers on a market contract.
The change is mainly due to an increase in wholesale gas costs and varying distribution charges.
The weighted average change for standing natural gas customers is a 2.7% increase for residential tariffs, and a 4.2% increase for small business tariffs.
Customers on fixed rate plans will not be affected by rate changes during their energy plan term.
