The AFL is trying to cover its ineptitude by charging Essendon and James Hird. An absolute disgrace. Here is, for all fair minded people, Hird and Pul Little's initial response, from The Age:

'At 4.15pm, Essendon chairman Paul Little and coach James Hird came out swinging, calling many of the charges "outrageous" and "reprehensible". Hird said he was being subjected to "trial by media". And both vowed to fight on, demanding Andrew Demetriou step aside from the hearing of the case.'

Typical gratuitous attitude by the AFL and its head honcho 'I am the repository of all AFL knowledge' Demetriou. For the sake of justice and fairness he should immediately stand aside.
