Clubs seem to be now treating coaches like players, you're getting past your prime move them on irrespective of their service.
The lack of respect shown to Clarkson is horrendous & I can't understand the urgency of bringing in Mitchell not only by the club but also Mitchell himself.
Melbourne showed that having a handover does work when there's mutual respect, Roos & Goodwin worked together for years & Goodwin arguably had more experience than Mitchell as a coach.
The whole situation has obviously been handled very badly. They should either have come to a mutual agreement behind closed doors to work together next year with Clarkson as head coach or they should have mutually agreed to pay out Clarkson's contract & let him move on at another club.
If neither of those were possible Clarkson should have been allowed to finish his contract.
