    Nah. It has been suggested 50 years ago. My old man (being an ex Pom and soccer player) could never understand a) why we score whilst the ball is still in the field of play ie it bounces back in and b) why it isn't a goal if it goes through the goals even if it hits the post. I am sure many others also wondered why this is the way it is way back when. I think Matthews also did bring it up also many years ago. I like the fact that our game is different but they change the rules as it suits but don't make some obvious changes. Soccer fixed their problem by making the ball lighter and making the win a significant higher value than a draw. (2 points to 3 points). The game became much more exciting since. Bad luck for goal keepers though
    We could turn our game into a more attacking game by just making the goals a tad wider.
