    Apart from the annual AFL game in Alice Springs that's usually in May & the annual AFL game in Darwin that's usually in Jun/Jul.
    There's a simple way around it play the away games during the hot months in Alice Springs. Ever been to Alice Springs in the Winter, bloody freezing some days.

    If financially unviable Western Sydney can have a team no reason why NT can't.

    0.5m people in TAS where Hobart won't travel to Launceston & vice versa are eventually going to get a team. So only a supporter base of around 250K.

    If they brought the NT Thunder into the AFL every indigenous person in NT would support it plus a lot of others in the remaining States.
    Population of NT is 247K

    5m people in Melbourne & 9 teams = 555k per team.
    Geelong has a team with a population of 253k!
