Good point as my exact thinking too. I can't stand it when a player under pressure tries to get boot to ball & it skewes off his boot bouncing & bouncing till it eventually goes over the boundary line - only for umpire to rule it as deliberate !? Go figure. A player should be allowed & entitled if first to the ball to get it to his team's advantage down the ground no matter how whether the ball stays in or bounces out.
