In 2023, the AFL had revenues of $1.06 billion and recently announced its 2024 profit of $45.4 million making it one of Australia’s largest charities by income. theconversation.com/australias-major-sports-codes-are-considered-not-for-profits-is-it-time-for-them-to-pay-up-250914

Is the AFL not a complete joke? A billionaire charity?

How can a billionaire's sport supported by the unpopular and embattled Seven West Media that has well and truly lost popular support, call itself a sport and a charity?

Why does the AFL not pay tax?

Why does it not pay the Victorian Government for use of the MCG?

And the SCG? and the Wollongabba Ground? And Manuka? And East Perth Stadium and the Sydney Showground? Adelaide Oval? And this ill-fated Tasmanian Devil venture?

A billionaire's sport not paying any tax and not becoming a sport using taxpayers funds to provide a so called sport behind a massive paywall? I'd like to see that?

In a cost of living crisis, a billionaire sport is playing itself up as a charity?
