All that matters is whether they can pay their bills. The deal will be done. Whatever the share price is. If its cheaper keep buying. The bulk of share owners by % would not want to give it away cheap as many will not sell their holdings as this thing starts to go up big time in price. Many will hold (like me) for very long term and add to holding. There gets a point when its unlikely to go lower due to that.
Think the majority expect a deal sometime between now and 3rd QTR next year. But most likely next 3 months.
