The thing that sticks in my mind about The Economist is that I was on the throne one day with nothing to read in late 2007. And I picked out an old Economist from a few mags that sit in a mag thingy near the dunny. This one must have escaped the missus' attention as it was over a year old. Thumbing through it I found a lttle article on the sub prime mess that was due for release on the world's economy.
I realise that The Economist was not alone, or the first to spot such troubles, but they are mainstream so tend to be conservative. When they write something; you'd better pay some attention to it.
but yeah, fairly meaty, and generally dull, but I honestly think that if you don't read it there is a good chance that you are missing the bigger picture, simply becasue it provides the big picture in a user friendly mag that can be read anywhere, any time at leisure; which just ain't the case with web based stuff. Well, not for old farts anyways.
