As someone who has worked in the industry for over 30 years, I can tell you that what the article has to say about zircon uses and zircon price is a load of garbage.

Zircon is used mainly for its refractory characteristics. In saying that it is used as a bone substitute is confusing it with titanium metal. To say that it is used in computers and tv screens is confusing it with monazite ( another heavy mineral present in mineral sands small quantities but arond $4,000/tonne).

Currently zircon contract price is running around $700/tonne, spot around $740-760. Iluka recently reported softening zircon prices
