Yes we r behind still the more outside inner city areas you go and especially with our indigenous issues and empathy, but take it from someone who remembers the efforts of Whitlam, Malcolm Fraser and later Bob Hawke to resoundingly bring us into the modern world from a 1950's one, that there has been enormous changes for the better in the last forty years and increasingly so. Progress with inclusivity is part of being a robust democracy as distinct from a dysfunctional one and we will get there !
