I would not be surprised in the slightest if someone linked to the CPP were paying protesters to shut down operations at Balama. It would take a mere few hundred US dollars to pay individuals to bring one of the biggest mines in Africa to it knees. A few hundred more in bribes to local police not to take action. It was highly speculated when Lynas was facing protests that the CCP may have been paying key individuals to create legal warfare IOT remove the competition in REE. I would not be surprised to see Balama under Chinese ownership 12 months from now. Unfortunately when it comes to business involving the CPP backed Chinese businesses if you think conspiratorial you are usually close to the mark.
