Tnabacus gave you a trading strategy but I think what your after (we all are) is the silver bullet (pun intended) that will indicate when to buy and sell in a trending stock.

Unfortunately there isn't one. I only began schooling myself up on T/A about 6 months ago, and the only real recommendation I can give is that once you get your head around the concepts - practice, practice, practice. From material I've read, indications are this can take years to perfect and even then you won't be right all the time.

I have had some success using simple trend lines and identifying support and resistence levels in conjunction with indicators including:

- Bollinger Bands
- MACD with histogram
- Chaikin Money Flow Index

I am not a day trader so this is based on a longer term and perhaps a more conservative approach, but hope it helps anyway.
