There was an article published by the Australian Financial Review yesterday about the announced upgrade of the SCG. It is also discussed the upgrade of Adelaide Oval, MCG, a brand new $700 million stadium in Perth. As well there will be significant money spend on Gold Coast for the Commonwealth Games. Given that Watpac has significant expertise in the area, a potential win or two in this segment of the market is likely.
AFR interviewed Greg Kempton as part of the article. There were no hints that Watpac was likely to win these contracts, however it is positive that AFR choose to speak to Watpac's CEO just because the topic was stadiums. Clearly Watpac has a very strong reputation in stadium construction.
