Definite error in the article, it was referring to Carbon Energy's 5mw plant and not Cougar's, you can see they use Carbon's name further down.
Interesting point though, as it is a key different between the two strategies. Carbon is going the softly softly approach by putting up a 5mw demo, Cougar is skipping this stage and going straight to full scale power station, starting at 186mw and moving to 400mw.
A simply explanation may be that Cougar through Ergo have a proven method, whereas Carbon Energy are still trialling. Regardless of reason I think both companies will be a huge success, and it will not hurt the UCG industry in general having a demo for Australian investors to see.
