Quite sure it is part of the ASX listing and disclosure requirements that any formal offers have to be disclosed to market... even if they are terrible.
Just would result in a notice like: " XYZ offered us a peanut butter sandwich for the business... the board refused the offer as they didn't want to share the sandwich between themselves".
