at this point a common ploy is to get a final div payout for any available cash the company has. lets say a 10c FF div which is worth 14c gross, and then Carlyl pay 2.65. the extra 4c franking a nice sweetener and Carlyl have to pay less cash out, so mutually beneficial.
Of course cooper has to hold out for the most he can get, but in the absense of another bidder his associates will want the cash now, not pie in the sky. its difficult to bluff when they know what is in your hand!
