It really is a disgrace that they can get away with such misleading reporting.
The biggest key from the whole enquiry is "ASIC has reconfirmed that Afterpay is different to traditional credit products as Afterpay does‘not charge consumers for providing credit’ and is therefore not regarded as credit under theNational Credit Code" (this is from the announcement today) - yet the AFR article suggests that ASIC want to extend credit laws to them...
One day I hope to see balanced reporting (and there are some negatives here as well as the positives), but not holding my breath!
