"ShareMeal kit delivery company Marley Spoon has signed a 10-year lease to take 14,200sq m of space at a logistics facility being built by Charter Hall in Sydney's west.Marley Spoon's need for a larger warehouse and more efficient supply chain in Sydney comes as food delivery services surge in popularity as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic as customers buy more groceries online.The logistics warehouse at 300 Victoria Street in Wetherill Park will be purpose built and temperature-controlled. Charter Hall will also construct an adjoining 12,200sq m premium grade facility on a speculative basis which will be ready for occupation in early 2021.Rolf Weber, managing director of Marley Spoon Australia, which is backed by significant investor Woolworths Group, said there had been a fundamental shift in people's shopping habits with more consumers looking for convenient and affordable options online.“Over recent years, we’ve been focused on expanding the Marley Spoon offering, as well as introducing Dinnerly, a second more affordable meal kit service; flexibility and choice have been at the heart of both brands, so a larger purpose-built facility will allow further automation and efficiency while also expanding our offering to customers,” Mr Weber said"
