    No, no, no. Hands off CBA. CBA has SH too and more importantly, depositors. CBA have a duty to those ppl too, so supporting Centro makes sense only if it makes sense for all concerned to do so.

    No, what is required is that CBA be pragmatic. If Centro continues to pay its bills and there is little to change that outlook in the medium term, then it deserves to survive and deserves continuing CBA support. The longer Centro continues as a going concern, the more likely that most, if not all monies, will eventually be recovered.

    Pragmatically, warnie is therefore right - the $B that is owed to CBA is performing at the moment, despite some draconian interest rates being forcibly extracted from Centro. If CBA could get their $B back, which would probably take some time, what would CBA do with it? Lend it to others at far lower rates of interest??? In other words, i makes no sense to ditch a working relationship and replace it with probably many new, uncertain and less profitable ones.
