Well whatever the first offer may be, you have to think it won't be the last. Either of the big three could do with what UMC has and then there's all the interest from overseas. You have to think that if one flags their interest with a low offer someone, or everyone, else is going to run the ruler over UMC and if it says the bid is cheap you'd have to think a second one would come along.

There's also the point that an undervalued bid can always be rejected - after all UMC did get to $2.80 without any help from a takeover bid.

It all looks good to me, patience all that's needed.
