It's also my recollection that Telstra can build what they want, just not advertise in direct competition with nbn. As a consumer I love reading these articles, more competition.

But I wonder why TLS shareholders think these announcements are necessarily good for the share price. Ok, so Telstra build large scale Fixed Wireless infrastructure in competition with nbn. How do they price it competitively without cannibalising their existing markets especially if they're limited in their advertising?

There are already plenty of small households who have ditched or foregone their home broadband connections for 4G Wireless. There are already cost effective options.

There's definitely a market for Telstra but for those who need volume and reliability nbn Fibre will remain first choice. TLS new offering will be attractive to a section of the market not on Fibre nbn but only if it's priced competitively. And even then many of the the customers they win from nbn will likely come from the current 46% of fixed customers already with Telstra.

Lots of investment, some return. Why do people think this is going to be any better for their share price when we've already had the experiences of 3G and 4G and their share price is still in the basement?
