"Toyota should benefit from the past year's events (record high oil prices
and a shortage of hybrid cars produced by rival companies such as Ford and GM), plus the
presidential election in the U.S. High gasoline prices are still in the back of
everyone's minds, and with Barack Obama as president, I believe more hybrids will
become available, pushing up the profits of Toyota, Nissan and Honda.
However, the shortage of batteries for hybrids may slow production! The automakers also
need to move quickly convert their plants to increase their production of hybrid cars
because supply does not meet current demand.
