Aust oil, gas companies to work together on African projects
Five Australian oil and gas companies will work together to buy and develop projects in Africa.
Adelphi Energy, ARC Energy, Advanced Well Technologies, Baraka Petroleum and Beach Petroleum have signed a memorandum of understanding that allows them to work together or opt out of individual projects.
The companies say their combined strength will allow them to "punch above their weight" when competing for projects.
Meanwhile, the energy company Alinta has asked for a suspension in the trade of its shares to continue until it is ready to announce its decision on a series of takeover proposals.
