African Minerals own 18.36% of CFE. As well, they own the infrastructure necessary for Marampa to function as a producing entity i.e the rail link and port facilities. Whilst I am not suggesting that they are, or will, have to sell off Tonkolili, it is worrying - to me - that they are experiencing financial difficulties with their operation with the low price of iron ore. The Chairman of AM is Frank Timis who,in the past, has had a relationship with Tony Sage. This has been the subject of much discussion in the past.
If AM is not able to recover and become profitable, then it does not bode well for CFE selling Marrampa in my opinion.
