The overall sentiment change towards coal is not too far off in my opinion. Where once the argument against coal was a philosophical one, the bashing of coal is now having a real impact on everyday people. Job loses, higher energy prices and critical export markets lost to competitors. What the hell for? nothing, absolutely nothing.
What many don't realise is that a sensible balance of conservation and a prosperous coal industry would have done more for the environment than the "all or nothing" approach being stuffed down our throats today.
The climate change argument is losing people, evident in the extreme measures to try and make people listen. its now being forced. The middle ground on climate change is slowly being lost. The argument is at a point where you're either an extremist or you don't believe. Governments will soon start hearing this message and they wont want to appeal to extremism.
