Major, I don't agree with the statement "there will likely be far worse ramifications in the long term than the short term pain felt by the consolidation".
I am presuming there is nothing amiss with any of MPO's projects, so based on their present position I expect them to be heading towards certification of additional 2P reserves, and production over the next 12-18 months. They have sufficient cash to fund this stage of their evolution.
Broadly, the SP should follow as more positive news is disclosed. This should happen with or without the consolidation, as the development of their projects really has nothing to do with the consolidation.
Yes, it should remove some of the trader element that are playing with the MPO SP when there are lulls in the newsflow, but in my view that is all.
I still don't see why the consolidation is required at this point. I know others disagree, but this is just my view.
The most important aspect from an MPO shareholders point of view is development of their projects. I still don't see how a consolidation will help. It just diverts management focus from the main game.
