Afternoon trading February 12

Half-time wrap:

The share market dipped towards its first loss in four sessions as the failure of a promising heart-attack drug dragged index heavyweight CSL sharply lower.

The ASX 200 dropped 23 points or 0.3% by mid-session. Healthcare was the biggest drag on the index after a trial of CSL's CSL112 drug failed to meet expectations. The company's share price slumped 4.88%.

Tech stocks outperformed after the Nasdaq jumped 1.25% on Friday. The domestic sector rallied 1.02% as Altium gained 2.58%, Technology One 2.52% and Xero 0.91%.

Wall Street's main indices finished mixed on Friday. The S&P 500 climbed 0.57% to close above 5,000 for the first time. The Dow eased 0.14%.


Personal trading: Low-income morning, but didn't have to be. Scraped a few coins from DRO. Part-fill in EXR. Coulda bought PHX at 1.2c. Looked at it. Scrolled on to something else. It's now trading at 3c. Kinda wish I bought that.
