Federal Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson has refused to comment on speculation senior Liberal Party members have given him a deadline to boost his approval rating.
Opposition frontbencher Andrew Robb has hinted that Dr Nelson could only have until next month's Federal Budget to prove himself to his party and the public.
But during a visit to a shopping centre at Capalaba on Brisbane's bayside today, Dr Nelson strongly reaffirmed his position as the long-term Liberal leader.
"All I can say is that I'm very determined to do the hard yards," he said.
"I'm here to stay and I will be working tirelessly to make sure that in less than three years there will be a Liberal government back in Canberra."
