Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1 and morning crew.
Half-time wrap:
The share market climbed into positive territory for the week after the Dow's best win streak in six years helped settle nerves ahead of tomorrow's US rates decision and Australian inflation data.
The ASX 200 firmed 32 points or 0.44% by the halfway mark of the session. The rally erased a 7.5 point loss yesterday.
Resource stocks drove index gains almost single-handedly. The materials sector jumped 3.4%. Energy gained 1.2%. Communications was the only other sector in positive territory, firming 0.3%. Tech, financials and consumer discretionary were the biggest drags.
US stocks rose overnight in a sign investors anticipate few nasty surprises in this week's rates decision, inflation data and trading updates from tech heavyweights. The Dow lifted 0.52% to an 11th straight gain, its best run since 2017.Personal trading: Tough market, as others have noted. All I have to show for the morning is a part-fill in 1CG that will barely be worth it wherever it goes from here.
