Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1 and morning crew.
Half-time wrap:
A rebound in resource stocks helped the ASX claw back some of yesterday's heavy loss.
The ASX 200 rallied 69 points or 0.88%. The Australian benchmark tumbled 102.5 points yesterday after underwhelming tech earnings sparked Wall Street's biggest sell-off since 2022.
Investors found enough positives in a mixed night on commodity markets for miners to lead this morning's recovery. The materials sector bounced 1.68% off yesterday's 20-month low. The energy sector gained 1.23%.
US stocks finished mixed overnight as an attempted rebound stalled in afternoon trade. The Dow held on for a gain of 0.2%. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq faded to losses of 0.51% and 0.93%, respectively.
Personal trading: JRV paid off from yesterday, although I was way too quick to take a profit. Part-fill in CXM at the low, but not enough to matter. Wanted TRP at the 50% fib - didn't quite get there, according to my highly unreliable mental calculation.
