Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1 and morning crew.

    Half-time wrap:

Australian shares marked time as tonight's US market holiday threw a brake on the global money-go-round.

The ASX 200 spent the morning in a tight 20-point trading range before reaching mid-session four points or 0.05% weaker. A rebound in Fortescue Metals and gains for Woodside, Santos, Macquarie Group and Transurban helped cushion against declines in the banks, Telstra and CSL.

Trading volumes were constrained by a US market break tonight for the Juneteenth public holiday. Overnight, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq edged to fresh heights as Nvidia's extraordinary ascent this year helped mask weakness across pockets of the market after retail sales data fell short of expectations.

Personal trading: Got something from LMG and PGY. Orders in for plenty of others.
