Afternoon trading March 16

Thanks @shovel40, @mirren, @Fiji1 and morning crew.

Another brutal morning in the ASX slaughterhouse. Market trimmed its loss on positive Credit Suisse and domestic jobs news. XJO down 2% at one point before bouncing off the Jan 3 low. (I use the term "bounce" loosely here. More like an arthritic 96-year-old man trying to prise himself out of a very deep armchair.)

Gold miners and defensive healthcare companies offered some sort of haven. Resources smashed, banks battered. Well done to those who got on DYM. Not a lot else out there.
